Description:Aging Marshal Flagg (Robert Mitchum) gets word that equally-old bank robber McKay (George Kennedy) is in the neighborhood, looking to rob a train that carries the money to fund the new bank in town. Flagg tells mayor Wilker (Martin Balsam) and is fired for his trouble. No longer marshal, but with a conscience, Flagg goes after McKay, only to learn that he's just along for the ride—Waco (David Carradine) is the real leader of the gang. Flagg is captured. When McKay refuses to kill him, Waco leaves both old men behind. They ride into town and try to warn the mayor, who doesn't believe them. When Waco's men kill an old man in town, McKay decides to team up with Flagg to stop the bandits. They board the train and force it to steam through town without stopping. The bad guys—and the entire town—chases after. The train crashes, Flagg and McKay fight off the bad guys, and Wilker takes all the credit. Flagg arrests McKay, but assures him that he'll get off light for helping stop the robbery.

Review - Good Guys and the Bad Guys, The

Mitchum, and especially Kennedy were good as older men still fighting to do what's right. They had good chemistry and were funny while carrying the plot. The rest of the movie was just slapstick, which, even if (occasionally) funny in the moment, is intrinsically forgettable.
