Description:The plot, such as it is, has soldier Andy (James Ellison) falling in love with nightclub singer Edie (Alice Faye) even though he's engaged to Vivian. Andy is sent to Australia where he wins a medal for something or other. When he comes home, his father hires the nightclub performers to put on a party, which brings Edie and Vivian (who has somehow become part of the show) together. But time is running out in the movie, so Vivian just announces that she's heading off to N.Y. to be in a show, leaving Andy to Edie (although this message is conveyed to Andy by his father and we never see him and Edie together). Throw in Carmen Miranda, Benny Goodman, and various people and a whole bunch of songs that have nothing to do with the plot (and were, in fact, written for an entirely different movie), and you have The Gang's All Here (which title also has nothing to do with the plot or the songs). Then add a couple of really odd songs, like an ode to polka dots, a bit with floating heads, and 30 chorus girls doing odd things with giant bananas and ...

Review - Gang's All Here, The

Very little plot, no character development, a leading man who played a slime ball, and no memorable songs (unless you're into the innuendo of the giant bananas) and it all comes out as a complete mess.
