Description:Dan Kehoe (Clark Gable) hears about woman who lives in a ghost town with her four daughters-in-law. Their husbands were bank robbers and hid a bunch of gold somewhere in the town. Three of them were killed. The woman, a stern, holier-than-thou woman keeps her daughters-in-law in line by demanding they stay faithful to their husbands until they know which of them are widows. Kehoe goes to the town and ingratiates himself with the four younger women until he discovers the hidden gold. Then he and Sabina (Eleanor Parker) take off together with the money. The old woman notifies the sheriff, so Kehoe has to give up most of the gold, but gets away with the rest and Sabina.

Reviews for The King and Four Queens

Review - King and Four Queens, The

Pretty dull. It consisted mostly of the way-too-old-for-the-role Gable flirting with the four women (when the actress who played the old woman was actually 14 years younger than he was).
