The Nazis want it, so they somehow manage to get their agents hired as servants and as actors in a play in which Lawry's daughter Barbara (Donna Reed) has a role. Lawry's wife Norma (Ann Harding) asks blind detective Mac Maclain (Edward Arnold) to investigate weird goings-on. Mac, and his dog Friday, show up at the Lawry estate where Mac pretends to be a drunk uncle. He stumbles around and overhears the plot, then sends Friday for help while he stalls. The police arrive in time to foil the plot.

Review - Eyes in the Night

First, you have to accept the premise of a blind detective. Then you have to accept the fact that almost everyone in the movie turned out to be a Nazi except the Lawrys and Mac. Donna Reed's character was supposed to be a snotty teenager (she was 21 when the movie was shot, but her vindictiveness early in the movie didn't really ring true. There wasn't really much detecting going on, and the plot was to far-fetched to be all that interesting.
