Pretty sure what happened here is that the studio acquired a lot of footage of firemen in action and decided to use it in a movie. The plot is stupid, Red's character is thoroughly unlikable, and there's no possible reason Marjorie would fall for him as she does. The only things worth watching are Ann Sheridan in her small role (before she became a big star), and some of the fire fighter footage.
