Description:Julie Benton (Doris Day), former airline stewardess, finds out that her super-jealous husband Lyle (Louis Jourdan) murdered her first husband to get her. She tries to flee, with the help of Cliff Henderson (Barry Sullivan), but Lyle manages to keep finding her. She goes from California to New York and resumes her career with the airline. She's on a layover in San Fransisco when Lyle kidnaps Cliff to try to force him to tell where Julie is. When Cliff won't talk, Lyle shoots him. Cliff manages to phone the police, but they're too late to stop Julie's flight out of town. Lyle is on board, and to make things as miserable as possible for Julie, he shoots the pilot and co-pilot. The pilot dies and the co-pilot keeps slipping in and out of consciousness. Jule, with help from the co-pilot (when he can), a passenger who's a doctor, and the ground control crew, manages to land the plane safely.

Review - Julie

Most reviewers say the first half, with the psychopath Lyle stalking Julie, is good but the second half, on the plane, is dumb. I reacted the opposite way. I found the first half rather full, but even though I knew how it would end, I thought the on-plane part of the movie was exciting. Jourdan, although I don't care for him, played Lyle with admirable under-statement. Day was also good in her role.
