| Description: | Vaudeville singer/songwriter Jack Norworth (Dennis Morgan) meets singer Nora Bayes (Ann Sheridan), falls for her, and promises her he'll make her a star. But Nora's old boss is upset because she refused his advances, and he blacklists her, even buying up all the theaters so they can't perform. Nora realizes Jack can't succeed with her, so she leaves him, expecting him to find another partner and move on. But Jack loves Nora, and his career slides even further. An old manager finds a way to get the two of them together on stage with talent scouts in the audience, and soon they hit it big with Ziegfield. |
