Stupid plot, but O'Connor and Reynolds were amusing and the songs weren't awful.

| Description: | Melvin Hoover (Donald O'Connor) is a photography assistant at LOOK magazine. He meets dancer Judy Schneider (Debbie Reynolds) and falls in love. To get close to Judy, who is dating Harry (whom she doesn't like but whom her parents want her to marry), Melvin takes photos of Judy, claiming to be working on a layout for the magazine. Judy tells Melvin that she loves him, but in order to get her parents to agree to let them marry, Melvin needs to get her photo on the cover. Of course, Melvin is in no position to accomplish this, so he mocks up a cover—just to prevent Judy from getting engaged. Everyone gets excited, but it soon becomes known that it's a fake. Her father storms into the LOOK office to demand answers. When the editor hears what happened, he realizes it's a great story and puts Judy on the cover. |
