Description:Leon Poole (Wendell Corey) is the inside man on a bank robbery. When the cops find out, they go to his house to arrest him. He begins shooting and the cops shoot back, killing Poole's wife by mistake. Four years later, he breaks out of prison by killing a guard. His goal is to kill Lila Wagner (Rhonda Fleming), the wife of Sam Wagner (Joseph Cotten) the officer who shot Poole's wife. As Poole gets closer, leaving a sting of bodies behind him, Wagner takes charge of the search. Lila wants him to quit police work and gets mad when he insists on going after Poole. He takes her to a friend's house and goes back to his own house to act as bait. Lila finds out and heads home. She and Poole arrive in the neighborhood at the same time. Lila realizes he's stalking her and makes a break for the house. Poole goes for her but gets shot down.

Review - Killer Is Loose, The

Starts out interesting, and builds in suspense for a while. But the ending, with Poole and Lila walking down the sidewalk while the cops watch from the shadows, just fell flat and made the whole movie sort of pointless.
