Description:Jim Hadley (Alan Ladd) has a contract to cut timber in the mountains. Ranch owner Laura Riley (Jeanne Crain) knows that if the trees are cut, the runoff will destroy her grazing land. She gets the town folk riled up and the two sides battle back and forth (with ruses, not much with guns). Jim and Laura fall in love, so Jim decides to give up and go somewhere else. His partner is fed up and decides to kill Jim. Failing that, he sets the woods on fire. Jim's logging crew and the town folk work together to stop the fire, making everyone friends. Jim takes his logging crew to other mountains and Laura decides to give up her ranch and go along.

Review - Guns of the Timberland

Bad and boring. Only Jeanne Crain made it remotely worth watching. Alan Ladd didn't look like a logger, leader of men, or romantic lead. He looked like somebody's middle-aged uncle who never married and works as a clerk at a insurance agency. The romance made no sense, especially when Laura gave up her ranch. And ... the massive forest fire was put out by 40 people in about half an hour. Right.
