Description:Early talkie in which Elmer Butts (Buster Keaton) travels to Hollywood as the manager of Elvira, an aspiring actress (Anita Page). Elvira can't get a break as an actress, but she does get the attention of Larry Mitchell (Robert Montgomery), a movie star. Elmer bumbles his way around the studio and ends up getting a major role in a movie and being signed to a large contract. But more than that, he wants to marry Elvira. Unfortunately for him, she doesn't realize how he feels and marries Larry.

Review - Free and Easy

Not a movie I'd want to watch again. The plot itself is minimal. Keaton has some funny bits, but most of it is slapstick (which was probably revolutionary at the time). Only a handful of talkies had been made, so it was interesting to see this movie from that perspective—I imagine the musical numbers especially were cutting-edge, although pretty clumsy and comical now.
