Description:Jack Wilson (Robert Sterling) is a New York hood who runs a protection racket. When the cops get too close, he takes off (getting shot in the process) and ends up on a farm in Connecticut. The farm family, Pa Miller (Henry Travers [Clarence the angel]), Ma (Fay Holden), older sister Pauline (Marsha Hunt), and younger sister Lizzie (Virginia Weidler) take him in and care for him while he recuperates. Jack falls for Pauline and tries to make moves on her, but her innocent beauty prevents him from going too far. Before long, he's seriously in love with her and her with him. He realizes he can't be with Pauline until he goes straight, so he decides to go back to NY and turn himself in. But the cops arrive and arrest him. At first, they're suspicious of Pauline, but once they meet her and the family, they play it cool—especially after they are invited to stay for dinner. They even let Jack say good-bye to Pauline alone. He confesses who he is (without going into much detail however), and she vows to wait for him.

Review - I'll Wait for You

Sterling was adequate as the gangster, but the four actors who played the Millers were great. Who wouldn't fall in love with this family, and especially with Marsha Hunt as Pauline?
