| Description: | Gambler-turned-insurance man Odds Owen (Warren Williams) takes out a policy for historian Col. Youngblood (Guy Kibbee) who is afraid that if his actress daughter, Marilyn (Claire Dodd) marries, she'll quit working and he'll no longer be able to live off of her. Odds and his employees do all they can to prevent Marilyn from marrying any of her suitors (one of whom was a young Errol Flynn). When that gets too challenging, Odds begins dating her himself and, to his surprise, falls in love with her. Marilyn finds out about the policy and decides to marry a man she doesn't love out of spite. Odds prevents the groom from getting to the wedding, shows up himself, and marries her, losing $50,000 in the process. |
