| Description: | Reporter Henry Taggart (Van Heflin) travels to Holland, Michigan, to take pictures of the Tulip Fest. He stays at an inn run by Mr. Van Maaster (S.Z. Sakall) and his seven daughters. Family tradition rules that the oldest daughter, Regina (Marsha Hunt) marry first. Henry is attracted to her at first and Regina, desiring to be an actress, believes Henry's stories of his connections in New York. But it is youngest daughter Billie (Kathryn Grayson) who Henry really loves, and she him. When he asks her father for her hand, her father thinks he means Regina. All gets messed up and Henry returns to New York alone. Disappointed, Regina runs away to New York. Her father follows and insists that she take acting lessons and have an escort. He also gives Henry permission to marry Billie. |
