Review - High Cost of Loving, The

There really isn't much of a plot, and the issue could have been resolved is Jim had simply asked his boss why he hadn't been invited to the luncheon. So the movie wasn't exciting, exactly. What it did have going for it was Ferrer and Rowlands as a married couple in complete sync and very much in love. The opening eight minutes shows their morning routine where they move about the house, getting ready for work and making breakfast in seemingly choreographed unity. Even when tensions mount, they are patient and understanding and supporting of each other. I couldn't help rooting for them.
