| Description: | Black veteran Easy Rawlins (Denzel Washington) is approached by Albright (Tom Sizemore) and hired to find Daphne (Jennifer Beals), a White woman who hangs around in Black neighborhoods. Easy starts asking questions and soon realizes he's in over his head. Bodies are stacking up, the police are after him, and he keeps getting beat up. He calls Mouse (Don Cheadle), an old friend who's quick with a gun, to follow him around. Easy finds Daphne and discovers that she has photos that will discredit a mayoral candidate. He also finds out she's part Black. He rescues Daphne from Albright, gets the photos, and turns them over to another candidate. With the money he makes, he considers becoming a private detective. |
