| Description: | The British secret service needs a hit man to kill its own agents who are suspected of being traitors. Spy chief Mostyn (Trevor Howard) thinks he has just the man, Boysie Oakes (Rod Taylor), a womanizing klutz who accidentally impressed Mostyn during the war. Boysie is trained, but once it comes to the actual killings, he hires a hit man. He also begins a disallowed affair with Mostyn's secretary, Iris (Jill St. John). Boysie and Iris sneak off to the Rivera, but it turns out to be a Russian plot. A fake agent convinces Boysie (who thinks there are bullets in the gun) to shoot the Prince of Wales while the Russians steal a secret plane. Mostyn arrives in time to stop the shooting and manages to get Boysie on board the plane—where he discovers the pilot is Iris who is really a Russian spy. Boysie knocks her out and is told to put the plane on auto-pilot to return to the airfield, a good thing because Boysie is afraid of flying. |
