Review - Mr. Soft Touch
The story was rough, with odd bits of comedy tossed into the noir mix. In the end, it didn't amount to much, but it kept my interest.

| Description: | Night Club owner Joe Miracle (Glenn Ford) returns from the war to discover the mob has taken over his business and killed his partner. He robs the club to get his money back, is arrested for some trivial matter, and ends up in a settlement house run by Jenny Jones (Evelyn Keyes). She has suspicions about Joe, but falls in love with him (and he with her) when he keeps doing things to improve conditions at the house. The gang finds him, takes the money, and burns down the house. Joe robs it back at gunpoint and gives it all to rebuild the house. He's shot by the mob, but lives. The movie ends with him in Jenny's arms. |
