Pretty sappy, and Efron was a bit more stone-faced than he needed to be, but I was rooting for the characters.

| Description: | Logan (Zac Efron) is a Marine in Iraq. His platoon gets mixed up with another one during an attack, and several Marines die. Logan sees a photo in the dirt and picks it up just as a bomb explodes where he had been sitting. He credits the girl in the photo with saving his life and, after the war, sets out to find her. His only clue is a lighthouse in the background, but he tracks it down. The girl is Beth (Taylor Schilling), who runs a kennel with her grandmother Ellie (Blythe Danner) and son Ben. Ellie hires Logan to work in the kennel against Beth's wishes—and certainly against the wishes of Keith, Beth's ex and Ben's father. In time, Logan and Beth fall in love, and Logan and Ben become close. Keith breaks into Logan's house and finds the photo and accuses Logan of stalking Beth. Beth tells Logan to leave. It all comes to a climax during a storm in which Ben is trapped on a broken bridge. Logan and Keith work together to save him, but Keith dies. Logan begins to leave, but Beth stops him and tells him to stay. |
