| Description: | When Cal's (Steve Carell) wife Emily (Julianne Moore) tells him she wants a divorce, he spirals into depression. In a bar, he meets ladies' man Jacob (Ryan Gosling) who proposes to teach Cal how to be a man and pick up women. Cal begins dressing and acting different and soon has a string of affairs, including one with Kate (Marisa Tomei), who turns out to be Cal's son Robbie's teacher. Meanwhile, Jacob meets Hannah (Emma Stone), and instead of having his usual fling, finds himself falling in love with her. When Cal finds out, he tries to break them up because he know's Cal's history. Also, Robbie is in love with his babysitter Jessica (Analeigh Tipton) who is, in turn, in love with Cal. In the end, everyone decides that there is such a thing as a soulmate. Cal and Emily get back together. Jacob and Hannah are together, and Jessica tells Robbie to look her up when he's older. |
