| Description: | Clint Tollinger (Robert Mitchum) rides into Sheridan in search of Nelly Bain (Jan Sterling), his former girlfriend. Sheridan is under the control of a local rancher whose thugs kill anyone who gets in their way. Tollinger happens to be a "town tamer," and when the locals find out, they give him a contract and a badge. Tollinger begins by setting a curfew and outlawing weapons in town. Whenever any of the gang cross him, he shoots them. Finally the rancher has had enough and rides into town with one of his gunslingers to kill Tollinger. Tollinger is shot, but with the help of the one local man willing to fight for himself, kills the bad guys. Tollinger ends up back with Nelly, determined to quit his ways. |
