Description:Police Sgt. Natalie Zimmerman (Paula Prentiss) thinks her new partner Valnikov (Robert Foxworth) is crazy, and in a way she's right. He's suffering PTSD from a string of bad things that happened in his life and in his cases. The two are assigned a case of a theft of a show dog. The dognapper Skinner (Harry Dean Stanton) is a dog trainer who needs $85,000 to pay off gambling debts. The dog's owner only manages to come up with $20,000. Skinner decides to take the money and run. Valnikov shows up to ask for help in the case, not realizing he has the dog. Skinner hits him over the head and takes off, but not before being bitten by a dog. He ends up in a Mexican hospital. Natalie, meanwhile, has grown fond of Valnikov. They sleep together, and after Valnikov recovers, they decide to quit the force and open a music store together.

Reviews for The Black Marble

Review - Black Marble, The

An odd movie. There was very little detecting by the cops on the case, and they only happened upon Skinner by accident. The love between Valnikov and Natalie didn't make much sense since it consisted mostly of them repeating their names to each other in Russian.
