Description:Also titled The Girl Swappers

Larry (George Chakiris), U.S. serviceman in England, gets into a tussle with his sergeant and thinks he killed him. He goes AWOL and runs to the house of his girlfriend Julie (Jocelyn Lane). Julie gives him her brother's motorcycle but insists on going with him. They ride out of town and stop at a cafe where another couple, Tom (Alfred Lynch) and Irene (Janette Scott) are having a date. It just so happens that the two boys are wearing identical coats and riding identical motorcycles, and the girls both accidentally get on the wrong bike. When they realize what happened, they both try to find the other but can't. Larry and Irene end up in a port city where Larry tries to arrange passage on a ship back to the U.S. Tom and Julie end up at Tom's aunt's school for girls. The school makes Julie consider her life, and she doesn't like what she sees. She wants to become more polished. Tom falls for her, and they are soon in love and engaged to be married. Irene also falls for Larry and refuses to believe he did anything really wrong. In the end, thanks to irene, Larry goes back to the base to take his medicine (the sergeant was only knocked out, not dead). Irene shows up and claims to be carrying his child, and the head officer, realizing that Irene has actually made a better man of Larry, lets them get married and promises Irene that Larry will only spend three months in jail.

Review - Two and Two Make Six

A quirky movie. Chakiris was whiny and obnoxious as Larry, and there's no good reason why Irene would fall for him, but Janette Scott was completely adorable as Irene. Jocelyn Lane was lovely as Julie, but her character wasn't as likeable, and Tom was just kinda there. Still, it was such a different movie that I enjoyed it.
