| Description: | Four-part TV mini series of George Eliot's novel. Stuck pretty faithfully to the plot, only cutting some of the details and a lot of the preachiness. Hugh Dancy as Daniel actually gave more life to the character than he had in the book. Hugh Bonneville was appropriately nasty as Grandcourt. Romola Garai made Gwendolen a more sympathetic character than she was in the bookâless annoying and more wiling grow. It felt like a TV mini series, but without all the stuffing in the book, it made for a better story. |
