Review - Fifth Avenue Girl
Not terribly deep, but with interesting characters and a funny (ish) story.

| Description: | Timothy Borden (Walter Connolly) is a wealthy businessman whose wife and children ignore him. Alone on his birthday, he wanders in Central Park and meets Mary Gray (Ginger Rogers), an unemployed young lady. They strike up a conversation, and Timothy invites Mary to dinner. They get drunk, so he lets her sleep in the guestroom. The next morning, when he sees the effect his supposed dalliance has on his family, he offers Mary a job. Hang around with him and make him look interesting so his family takes a second look. At first his wife and children are scandalized. But they soon begin seeing Timothy—and life—differently. Timothy's wife pays attention to him again. Tim the son goes to work at his father's business and becomes a success. Daughter Katherine, who is in love with the chauffeur, goes to Mary for advice and Mary helps them get together. But it all becomes too much for Mary—until Tim the son proposes to her. |
