| Description: | Six friends in Baltimore in 1959 hang out together in the local diner over the holidays and discuss life. Eddie is getting married--if his fiancee passes a test on football knowledge. She fails by a couple points, but he marries her anyway. Boogie (Mickey Rourke) is a ladies' man who gets in debt to gamblers and is in trouble until a local businessman who knew his father bails him out in exchange for Boogie working for him. Fenwick (Kevin Bacon) drinks a lot and bums around, living off his grandfather's estate. Shrevie (Daniel Stern) is married to Ruth (Ellen Barkin). They can't find much to talk about, but the decide to keep working at it. Billy (Tim Daly), gets his friend pregnant but can't talk her into marrying him. Modell (Paul Reiser) is mostly around for laughs. |
