Description:After artist Jack loses his girlfriend, he shuts himself in his apartment and loses his ability to paint. He applies for a muse -- an android human programed to be his perfect match. When Evelyn shows up, she is so pleasant that he falls in love. But his art still suffers. After a while, Jack gets bored with the sameness of their lives and tries to have Evelyn sent back. She refuses to go and the hits him over the head and chains him to his bed. When his spirit is broken, she gives him some freedom and tells him to paint. After several false starts, he creates a masterpiece. Evelyn is happy, but Jack kills her and runs outside -- only to have the muse police arrest him and put him in prison. We then learn that both Jack and Evelyn were muses, and Evelyn was used to force Jack to do the two human things nobody thought muses could do -- have deep feelings and be violent. Now that Jack proved that muses could do those things, muses were given full human rights.

Review - Muse

Interesting concept. I caught on early that Evelyn was only abusing Jack to inspire his art, but I didn't figure out that Jack was a muse. The premise that artificial humans deserved rights because they could be forced to commit violence was a weird take.
