Review - Brewster McCloud
Like watching a slow-motion car wreck. It was weirdly fascinating, but to strange to be good. Surrealism without a purpose or point.

| Description: | Brewster (Bud Cort) is an odd young man who lives in the fall-out shelter below the Houston Astrodome. He wants to fly, and spends his time researching birds and flight. He is protected by Louise (Sally Kellerman), a mysterious woman who is, perhaps, a guardian angel who has lost her wings. The follows Brewster, distracting anyone who tries to follow him and killing anyone who causes him trouble. Shaft (Michael Murphy) is an ace detective brought in from California to solve track down the killer, but when he fails, he kills himself. Suzanne (Shelley Duvall) is a young tour guide in the Astrodome who takes a liking to Brewster and sleeps with him. But when he confesses that he is somehow connected to the murders, she calls the police. Meanwhile, Louise discovers that Brewster is no longer a virgin, she leaves. As the cops close in, Brewster takes his wings to the upper level of the stadium and successfully flies for a while before crashing to his death. |
