But when she hops on the train, she suddenly finds herself on an old steam train with a mysterious conductor (Christopher Lloyd). She's conveyed 10 years into the past in her home town. She's with Tyler, her ex-boyfriend. Her parents are on the brink of divorce. And her relationship with her sister has become distant. She can't get back to her old life until she fixes what she got wrong. She repairs things with her sister, helps her parents reconnect, and accepts Tyler's proposal. But as the holiday season progresses, things are still wrong. She realizes that marrying Tyler wasn't what she needed, so she breaks off her engagement. Childhood friend Ben (Chandler Massey) has been hanging around gazing longingly at her, and she finally realizes she loves him. But she has to catch the train to her future, so she phones Ben and tells him to meet her in 10 years. When he does, he proposes, and she accepts.

Review - Next Stop, Christmas

It had a little more story and originality than most Hallmark movies, although the ending made no sense. If Angie and Ben realized 10 years before that they were in love, why did they have to wait 10 years to reconnect — especially since Ben was a family friend and could have easily contacted her or she him. It was also kinda weird that Angie didn't know she was really in love with Ben when she thought she was in love with Tyler. But I'm putting too much thought into it.
