Felt real, and my sympathies were with Sam and his attempts to fix his past mistakes — right up until there were about 10 minutes left in the movie. All of a sudden, there's profanity and sex scenes and nudity that was totally gratuitous and just made me dislike pretty much everybody. And then the weird ending with Sam staying at the hotel and Kate leaving ... No resolution except that this loser who sleeps around and walks out on women and children suddenly is supposed to be lovable even though nothing has apparently changed.
