Description:Marshall Tom O'Malley (George O'Brien) is sent to the town of Gunsight to clean out the gang that's robbing the town blind and holding up stagecoaches. On the way, he happens upon the outlaw Raven who is dying. Raven has a note introducing him to the leader of the Gunsight gang, and O'Malley decides to impersonate Raven and infiltrate the gang. Along the way he meets a preacher and his daughter Ruth (Rita Oehmen) who are also headed to Gunsight. When he gets to the town and meets up with the gang leaders (who include the saloon owner and the mayor), they decide to fool the town folk by having O'Malley (who they think is Raven) pretend to be O'Malley. This goes on for a while, but when he acts more like a real marshal, the gang gets upset and sends another outlaw to impersonate O'Malley so that everyone thinks he's the Raven. Follow? O'Malley sends Ruth off to bring back some other marshals while he tracks finds evidence that the mayor is the leader of the gang. When everyone is all together and all being themselves, the mayor and the bad guys are arrested. As usual, O'Malley ends up with the girl after knowing her for two days and talking with her for a couple hours at most.

Review - Gun Law

O'Brien plays his role with enthusiasm and a big grin. But it would have taken a better director than this movie had to make a convincing and understandable movie about a guy who, at one point, was a good guy pretending to be a bad guy pretending to be a good guy pretending to be a bad guy.
