Description:Gold-digging actress Mida King (Patricia Dane) is murdered on a private car below Grand Central Station. Inspector Gunther gathers several suspects, including P.I Rocky Custer (Van Heflin) and his wife Sue (Virginia Grey). The inspector attempts to grill the suspects, but Custer keeps interrupting and asking other questions. It turns out that several men that King had conned with her charms had reason to kill her, but the culprit turns out to be the father of a girl who had been dumped for the actress. He killed her while she was taking a shower by hooking the "shower pipe" to the third rail of the train tracks. When Custer exposes him, he runs and falls on the third rail, killing himself.

Review - Grand Central Murder

The story, as told, was just a bunch of rabbit trails pointing to the various suspects. There was no way to solve it as a viewer. The acting was poor, the dialogue was lame, and the running jokes — like the inspector chain-drinking cherry sodas — weren't funny. At no point did I guess, or care, who the murderer was.
