| Description: | Glory (Ginger Rogers) is "The Purity Girl," a radio singer who sponsors dish cloths. Her contract prohibits her from going out, being seen with a man, etc., and Glory wants to experience life. Her sponsors come up with the idea of bringing in Jim (Norman Foster), a Kentucky hick who wrote Glory a fan letter, and setting him up as Glory's guy. Jim doesn't realize it's a promotional stunt, so after the on-air wedding, he "kidnaps" her to his cabin in the mountains and insists she behave like a conservative wife. When she refuses, he punches her. They make up and —or so it is inferred — make love, which makes Glory fall in love with him. The sponsors show up and insist she sign a new contract to go back on the air. She agrees, but only if Jim can go along with her and perform next to her on the show. |
