Description:John Drury (John Wayne) arrives in town just in time to save a horse named Duke from being convicted of murder (even though the guy he attacked isn't dead). Drury rides Duke to prove he isn't mean. The townsfolk then ask Drury to go after the Hawk, a bad guy who has been terrorizing the area with his gang. Henry Sims volunteers to guide Drury to the Hawk's hangout, but Sims turns out to actually be the Hawk. He captures Drury and leaves him tied up, then takes his gang to rob a rancher and leaves evidence that Drury is the Hawk. Duke unties Drury, but Drury is soon arrested and put on trial in a mock courtroom in a ghost town. Ruth (Ruth Hall), who considered Drury her hero hears from the original victim that Sims is the Hawk. She rides to the trial to report the news, but nobody believes her. Sims is only exposed when some of his own men enter the courtroom and begin talking to him as the Hawk. Sims grabs Ruth and rides off with her. Drury, now the hero once again, rides after her and rescues her. Sims is killed by Duke when he tries to escape.

Review - Ride Him, Cowboy

This was simply ridiculous. While Wayne looked properly heroic, the plot, acting, and dialogue were terrible. To add to the nonsense, at the end of the movie, Drury kisses Ruth after having known her about six minutes and declares his intention of sticking around even though the entire town was about to hang him based on zero evidence just minutes earlier.
