Life is an endless round of sex and drugs until you reach the age of 30, at which point you are put down — supposedly to be reincarnated. Logan (Michael York) is a sandman, tasked with catching "runners," those who attempt to escape. He meets Jessica (Jenny Agutter), a young woman with a lot of questions. the computer that runs things picks Logan to pretend to be a runner and find out where "sanctuary" is. Jessica insists on coming with him. The make their way through a bunch of tunnels, followed by sandman Francis, who is Logan's friend but intends to stop him. Logan and Jessica discover there is no sanctuary. Those who run are frozen in a cave by some weird robot guy. They escape him and make their way outside into a world with no people. Somehow they get from the desert to the ruins of Washington D.C. in a matter of days, where they meet the Old Man (Peter Ustinov), who tells them about love and families. Logan and Jessica decide to go back to the city to tell everyone they don't have to die. But nobody will listen. Logan is caught by sandmen and interrogated. He's forced to tell the truth, and when he insists there is no sanctuary, the computer blows up, the domed city is destroyed and all the people wander outside all happy and stuff.

Review - Logan's Run

Terrible special effects, cheesy dialogue, bad acting. Farrah Fawcett had a small part and demonstrated a woeful lack of acting talent. There were so many flaws with the internal logic that I can't even begin.
