Description:Jeff (Tom Drake) and Jean (Donna Reed) worked together in the shoe section of a department store before the war. After several dates, Jeff was called up to serve in WWII. He thought the romance was serious and proposed to Jean by mail. She didn't take it seriously and got engaged to Medcraft, who works in another department. Jess was gone for four years, and when he returns at war's end, he plans on taking up with Jean right where they left off. Not wanting to hurt him, she — and the entire staff of the shoe department — conspire to keep the secret from Jeff. Of course, Jeff discovers the truth and storms off, but in the time they spent together, Jean realizes she wants to marry him after all. The staff lock them together in a store window display until they realize they love each other.

Review - Faithful in My Fashion

I didn't completely hate it, but it had one of the stupidest premises of any movie I've seen. What was the purpose of the pretending? Even if they had pulled it off for the two weeks of Jeff's furlough, he would have discovered the truth six weeks later when he was out of the Army.
