Description:Singing matador Juan Bautista (Peter Sellers) wants a chance to sing on the stage. Theater owner Carbonell makes a deal with him — he can have a week in the theater if he manages to spend a night with Olimpia Segura (Britt Ekland). Olimpia is a beautiful blonde who manipulates men into giving her expensive gifts, always letting them think she will sleep with them but never doing so. Carbonell is one of the many frustrated men she's left in her wake. Juan has three days. He invents a Count who, he says, wants to meet Olimpia. Juan takes her to a nightclub to meet the count, but the count never shows. The next night, he takes her to an intimate retreat, but again, of course, no count. But Juan and Olimpia have gotten to know one another and have a good time. On the third night, Juan goes to Olimpia's apartment with excuses why the count can't come again. Olimpia kisses him and they spend the night together. But in the morning, Olimpia finds out that there is no count. For revenge, she makes Juan submerge in a tub of blue dye. To make matters worse, Carbonell reneges on the bet when Juan refuses to tell all about his night with Olimpia. Juan goes back to bullfighting, but is now famous as "The Singing Blue Matador."

Reviews for The Bobo

Review - Bobo, The

This movie had me laughing out loud on several occasions. Sellers was great, Ekland was lovely, and it was just fun. But the ending was horrible. Olimpia loved Juan, but ended up pursuing yet another rich man. It could have been sweet.
