| Description: | Mike Drinkwater is a high school nerd who lives with his father Hank. Hank wears a neck brace and rides around on a scooter so he can get disability checks even though he's fine. Mike plans his entire schedule around watching Danny, the hottest girl in school. Then Wallace moves in with her grandparents next door, and she and Mike become friends. When the coach, in an effort to give Mike some direction, challenges him to enter a 5K to win a scholarship, Wallace rides her bike on his training runs and encourages him. His chief rival is Luke, Danny's boyfriend. There's the usual nerd goof-ups, but in the end, Mike realizes he likes Wallace. He helps Luke win the race and comes in second himself, and Luke (who has a full scholarship) defers the scholarship to Mike. |
