Description:Jennifer Smith (Jane Wyman) heads a well-known consumer protection agency based on strict adherence to the truth. She's out sailing when a submarine tractor surfaces and upsets her boat. Bill Craig (Dennis Morgan) pops out and rescues her. He says his name is Davy Jones. A storm blows up, so Jennifer has to spend the night in the submarine. She takes some photos, but what she doesn't know is that Bill is working for the government on a top-secret project, and he can't let the photos get out. He gives Jennifer sleeping pills and leaves her on the beach. When she's found, she tells about Davy Jones and the submarine, but nobody will believe her. She goes to get the film and finds her camera empty. She sticks to her story and becomes a laughingstock in the papers. Soon her job is in jeopardy. The story then becomes slapstick nonsense — with Jennifer hiring a detective to get the film so she can prove her story and keep her job, and Bill trying to keep her from getting the film so he can protect the government secret and keep his job. In the end, the detective gets the photos and turns them over to the papers but the government manages to stop the story. Jennifer and Bill both lose their jobs, but end up together.

Review - Lady Takes a Sailor, The

It started out interesting and cute, and Wyman and Morgan were both likeable in their roles, but about halfway through it just got silly and stopped making sense.
