Review - Rich, Young and Pretty
Jame Powell was sprightly, and Darrieux grew on me as the movie went on, but the plot was dull and the songs were unmemorable.

| Description: | Years ago, Jim Rogers (Wendell Corey) met and quickly married a Parisian singer, Marie (Danielle Darrieux). He took her to his ranch in Texas, and they soon had a daughter. But Marie missed Paris and ditched her family and went back. Now Jim returns to Paris for business and brings his daughter Elizabeth (Jane Powell). She meets Andre (Vic Damone). They chum up and soon fall in love. Meanwhile, Marie finds out Elizabeth is there and wants to see her. She befriends the young couple while Jim is busy elsewhere. When Jim finds out, he confronts Marie and she agrees to break up Elizabeth and Andre. She does, but they are both miserable, so she gets them back together and Jim agrees that they can marry. Elizabeth finds out Marie is her mother, but the movie does nothing with that. |
