Reviews for Cheyenne
Review - Cheyenne
The plot was nonsense and full of holes and there wasn't really any characters to root for, although Morgan, Wyman, and Paige at least had fun with their roles.

| Description: | Later re-titled "The Wyoming Kid. Gambler James Wylie (Dennis Morgan) is offered a pardon and a reward if he can track down the notorious stage robber known as "The Poet," who leaves poems in the strongboxes he robs. On the stage on his way to Cheyenne, where the Poet operates, Wylie meets Ann (Jane Wyman), and Emily (Janis Paige). The stage is robbed by a gang and Wylie loses his money. In Cheyenne, he recognizes one of the robbers and tracks him to the gang's hang-out. He is caught and taken inside and is surprised to find Ann, who reveals herself to be the wife of the Poet who was sent to make a deal with the gang. Ann says that Wylie is her husband to save his life, but Wylie doesn't know if he can trust her. They set out to meet the Poet and have to shoot it out with the gang. Back in Cheyenne, Wylie finally figures out that the Poet is Ed Landers (Bruce Bennett), who's actually in charge of shipment security. He plans on getting out of town the all the loot from his robberies, and when Ann finds out Ed plans on running with Emily instead of her, she jumps on the stage. Wylie manages to stop the Poet and get his pardon. Ann thinks about running off with the money that Ed hid in her luggage, but at the last minute she gives it to Wylie and they go off together. |
