| Description: | Seven music professors led by Hobart (Danny Kaye) are researching and recording a history of music. They realize they've been at it so long that music has changed in the meantime. Hobart goes to nightclubs to investigate the new music and discovers singer Honey (Virginia Mayo). He invites her back to the institute to help them. She has no interest in going until she finds out that her gangster boyfriend is wanted by the police and she is wanted to testify. She goes to the institute as a hideout. Before long, she has all the old guys riled up to the point where Hobart asks her to leave. Instead, she kisses him, and he falls in love and proposes. At this point, the gangster boyfriend arrives and demands that Honey marry him. She no longer wants to, so he holds the professors at gunpoint while he forces Honey to marry him. Before the wedding is finished, Hobart, the professors and a group of musicians overpower the gunmen and stop the wedding. Honey, who now loves Hobart, stays with him. |
