Description:At the end of prohibition, bootlegger Remy Marko (Broderick Crawford) decides to operate his brewery as a legitimate business. Things don't go well, and he's soon in debt. He doesn't want his wife, Nora (Claire Trevor) to know, so he lets her rent an expensive house in Saratoga Springs. Meanwhile, five crooks steal money from a racetrack and hide on in the empty house. One of them (Harry Morgan) shoots the other five, but before he can get the money out of the house, the Markos show up. With them is their daughter Mary who is engaged to a policeman, and Donnie, an orphan kid that Remy helps out. Donnie finds the money and hides it. Remy's old bootlegging buddies find the four bodies and try to hide them. All this is going on while Remy invites a bunch of people over for a party, bankers show up to collect their money from Remy, Nora is trying to impress the policeman's mother, and the remaining robber is trying to get his money back. There's tons of chaos, but all comes out well in the end for everybody (except the thieves who are dead).

Review - Stop, You're Killing Me

Slapstick nonsense with random songs strung out to interrupt the action at odd moments.
