At no point did any of the characters appear to be real functioning people, not was the story funny enough to be interesting on a satirical level.

| Description: | Professor John Hathaway (Don Ameche) writes a book on jealousy, claiming that love is based on trust so, if you love someone, you are never jealous. His wife Julie (Rosalind Russell), looking for some emotion from her husband, disagrees. They head to New York to sell the book to publisher Elliot Morgan (Van Heflin), whose editor Nellie (Kay Francis) is in love with. While Nellie and John work on the book, Elliot hangs out with Julie and tries to make moves on her. She's not interested, but is also angry that John doesn't seem to care. To make him mad, she takes off to Elliot's country home. John and Nellie follow and it all gets silly from there. In the end, Nellie and Elliot get married. And Julie and John, who now gets jealous when men pay attention to his wife, are happy. |
