Description:Playwright Tom (Fredric March) and artist George (Gary Cooper) meet Gilda (Miriam Hopkins) on a train. Both men fall in love with her, and she with both of them. Her boss/mentor Max (Edward Horton) wants Gilda for himself and tries to intervene, but Gilda is soon living with Tom and George. The love triangle is resolved with an agreement that there would be no sex. Gilda helps both men with their art, and one of Tom's plays is soon a big hit. He goes to London for the premier, and George and Gilda take up with each other. Gilda promotes George's art and he soon has many clients. He's traveling when Tom comes back for a visit and has a fling with Gilda. When George returns, Gilda moves out and marries Max. She helps him with his career too, but when Tom and George shows up, she dumps Max and returns to living with Tom and George.

Review - Design for Living

Definitely pre-code and, in fact, was one of the movies responsible for the code. There were some mildly amusing bits, but I couldn't find any of the characters worth rooting for.
