| Description: | French movie about kindly, bumbling Monsieur Hulot (Jacques Tati), who lives in a third-floor flat in the city and wanders about harmlessly and cluelessly. His sister, her husband, and their son live in a modern, automated house outside the city. Hulot picks up the boy from time to time and allows him adventures he never has in his super-controlled life at home. The boy's father gets fed up and gets Hulot a job at his plastic hose factory, but Hulot messes up there too. They try to hook him up with a neighbor woman, but that doesn't go well either. Finally they ship him off as a company rep in the provinces. |
