Review - Going Highbrow
Typical 1930s silly nonsense, saved somewhat by the likeable performances of Guy Kibbee as Mr. Upshaw and June Martel as Sandy.

| Description: | The Upshaws (Guy Kibbee and Zasu Pitts), newly rich, determine to break into high society by having a coming-out party for their daughter. The only problem is that they have no daughter, so they convince Sandy (June Martel), a waitress, to play the part. Everything is going swimmingly, and Sandy gains the attentions of Harley Marsh (Ross Alexander), a society boy who wants to marry her. Complications arise when Sandy's husband, whom she separated from years before, shows up. All is revealed, buy Harley still loves her. Harley's agent, Augie (Edward Horton), in his usual bumbling fashion, manages to find out that Sandy's husband has a second wife, which enables Sandy to annul their marriage so she can marry Harley. |
