Description:Helen Ferguson (Barbara Stanwyck) is unmarried, pregnant, and broke. The father of her child, Stephen Morley, gives her a train ticket out of town but nothing more. On the train, Helen meets a young couple, Patrice and Hugh Harkness, headed to Illinois so Patrice can meet her in-laws. Patrice is also pregnant, and the two women strike up a friendship. Patrice asks Helen to hold her wedding ring while she washes up. The train crashes, and Patrice and Hugh are both killed. When they find the ring, the doctors assume Helen is Patrice. She has the baby and is taken in by the Harkness family, who think she is Hugh's wife. Hugh's brother Bill (John Lund) figures things out soon, but he also falls for Helen. Everything is going well when Stephen shows up and threatens to expose everything and take the child if Helen doesn't marry him (in secret so he can get to her money when the Harknesses die. Helen marries him, but then determines to kill him. She goes to his room but finds him already dead. Bill shows up and manages to dump the body on a train. Bill and Helen get married, but the worry of exposure is a wall between them. But when the police show up, they explain to Helen that they know she didn't kill Stephen and have caught the real murderer—another woman Stephen dumped. Bill and Helen live happily ever after.

Review - No Man of Her Own

Not really my sort of movie, but this one was done well and was actually (almost) believable.
