Description:Greeting card writer Erwin Towbridge (Frank McHugh) has a fight with his wife Audrey and her brother. He ditches work and goes to a bar where three gamblers find out that Erwin has a knack for picking horses. The get him drunk and keep him at the bar while Audrey and his boss Carver (Guy Kibbee) search for him. Mabel (Joan Blondell), the girl of one of the gamblers has sympathy for Erwin and convinces her boss to let Erwin ride the bus, where he gets his brainstorms, so he can pick the next day's winners. When he waffles on one of the picks, the gamblers force him to put up his own money too. His pick wins, but the act of gambling takes away his gift. Carver shows up and offers Erwin a big raise to keep writing cards.

Review - Three Men on a Horse

Not very funny or clever with way too much shouting. Carol Hughes, who plays Erwin's wife, may be the most annoying person to ever appear on screen. Her voice is worse than fingernails on a blackboard.
