Description:Lawyer Tony Adam (William Powell) works for the poor people with the help of his loyal secretary Olga (Joan Blondell). When he wins a case against a big-shot lawyer, he's made a partner and given a big office downtown. Olga loves Tony, but he's a ladies-man who plays around. He's offered a position with the local political machine run by Gilmurry, but turns it down. An actress asks him to take a breach-of-promise suit against a famous doctor, and when the tell-tale letters disappear, the doctor sues Tony. The jury can't come to a decision, which leaves Tony free but with his reputation ruined. He loses his partner and position and becomes a shyster lawyer who takes any case for money. He finds a client who has a strong case against the Gilmurry, who settles out of court, giving Tony his revenge. Gilmurry offers him a job again, and Tony demands to be Asst. D.A. He investigates the doctor and wins a big case, even though Gilmurry pressures him not to take it. Gilmurry then offers him a judgeship, but Tony turns it down and returns to his roots helping the little people. Through it all, Olga stays loyal and tries to steer him right.

Review - Lawyer Man

Certainly not deep or subtle. It jumped from scene to scene as though they lost the script and filmed the outline. The characters were all parodies of actual people, except for Blondell as Olga, who was the only thing worth watching in the movie.
